<p>I'm Rebecca Minkoff, designer and founder of Rebecca Mincoff handbags. I started clothing when I was 21 and I came out with one handbag.</p> <p>A friend of mine, Jen Elfman, who starred on "Dharma and Greg," was doing a movie and she said, "I need a handbag. It's a really important part of the character." So, I was like, "Great. I've never designed a handbag before. But, I'm going to do it."</p> <p>So, after that, I shipped it to her. FedEx misdelivered. It didn't make it into the movie at all, which was awesome. I just started wearing the bag around town, and all these people were stopping me on the street, and commenting on it and it kind of just exploded from there.</p> <p>When Bloomingdales first purchased, that's when I was like, "Holy cow. It's happening. I really made it." Everybody around the world love Bloomingdales. So, that was really cool.</p> <p>As of right now, all of our bags are made in the USA. They're actually made right here in New York City. All the leather's Italian.</p> <p>Each girl has a boy to call. So, if you open the bag, there's a boy with his card, and his phone number on it and you can call him if you want to be entertained.</p>
